abstract

conclusions these results suggest that serum cholesterol, phospholipids and triacylglycerols have no effect on the levels of cholesterol, phospholipids and triacylglycerols of spermatozoa and seminal plasma. our findings suggest that sperm lipid content is regulated locally within the male reproductive tract. patients and methods cholesterol, phospholipids and triacylglycerols in sperm cells, seminal plasma and serum were assayed in 60 infertile men. results there were no significant relationships between the concentration of sperm and seminal plasma cholesterol with serum cholesterol (r = 0.003, p = 0.9 and r = 0.055, p = 0.67, respectively), between the concentration of sperm and seminal plasma triglycerides with serum triglycerides (r = 0.16, p = 0.2 and r = - 0.039, p = 0.77, respectively), or between the concentration of sperm and seminal plasma phospholipids with serum phospholipids (r = 0.18, p = 0.16 and r = 0.053, p = 0.69, respectively). background lipids play an important role in the functional activity of sperm cells. objectives the main goal of this study was to assess the correlation between the levels of cholesterol, phospholipids and triacylglycerols found in serum, with the lipid levels of semen in infertile men.

Correlation between Serum T3 Resin Uptake and Serum Lipid Profile

Abstract Background and Objective: T3 resin uptake test indicates the availability of thyroxin binding globulin (TBG), which is the carrier of a large amount of T3 and T4 in blood. We aimed to study the relationship between serum T3 Resin Uptake and serum lipids profile. Material and Methods: The participants aged 14.80 ± 38.29 were both males (59 29.5%) and females (141 70.5 %). T3 Resi...

Correlation between Seminal Fluid Analysis and Levels of Gonadotropins in Serum and Seminal Plasma of Normozoospermic Men and Infertile Patients

Background Levels of serum gonadotropins have direct effects on testicular functions and spermatogenesis. Assessment of levels of serum gonadotropins from fathered subjects and infertile patients indicates wide range diversity. In this study, we tried to find out whether the levels of seminal FSH and LH affect the parameters of seminal fluid analysis (SFA) and if there is any correlation betwee...

Correlation between Serum Lipid Profile and Iron Deficiency Anemia in Children in Southeast of Iran

Background: Iron deficiency, is a common worldwide complication, especially in preschool children. Iron deficiency anemia (IDA) is associated with changes in the mental and motor development, defects of immune system, cardiovascular, diseases and disruption of lipid profile. In IDA, the occurrence of dyslipidemia is controversial. We aimed to investigate the association between IDA and serum li...

correlation between serum lipids profile with sperm parameters of infertile men with abnormal semen analysis

background: one of the main laboratory tests for evaluation of infertility is semen analysis (sa). however additional tests may be suggested for further diagnosis of male fertility potentials. the seminal fluid contains sperms non-sperm cells and various types of lipids and glucose. objective: the objective of this cross-sectional study was to correlate the sperm parameters with concentrations ...

Correlation of Serum Lipid P rofile with Histological and Seminal Parameters of Testis in The Goat

Objective The lipid composition of a mammal’s spermatozoa and seminal plasma vary in both structure and function. Evidence exists to suggest that dietary supplementation with the appropriate polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) affects spermatogenesis, semen quality and sperm motility. Therefore, this study has been conducted to evaluate the correlations between serum lipid profile and histologi...
